 At Kong Sai Martial Arts students are taught by Sifu Steve Youngman a 3rd Degree Black Sash in Freestyle / Kung Fu.

 Kong Sai Kung Fu is a derivative of a style from China that was taught at the Kuei Ling Temple in the province of Kong Sai.

  Steve has over 25 years experience in martial arts and has both studied and graded in various other disciplines such as TaeKwonDo, Kickboxing and Shotokan Karate, and continues to study other styles today.

  What Steve teaches is based on the various styles that he has studied and covers three major elements;

 1) Traditional Kung Fu

 2) FreeStyle

 3) Self Defence

 Great emphasis is placed on the Freestyle aspect, while maintaining the essence of the style and giving the student a solid foundation to build on but also at the same time encouraging the student to express themselves.

 For the more accomplished student the opportunity to train in weapons is available.

 With regards to competition, Steve has competed successfully both locally and nationally as have a number of his students.

Steve has been through an Enhanced Disclosure with the Criminal Records Bureau ( CRB ) and has been cleared to work with children and vulnerable adults.

Kong Sai Martial Arts are supporters of the Sunderland International Festival of Martial Arts.
